The pitch Β· how the Champions League works

01How it works

We stop drafting players and start drafting entire teams β€” from MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, college football, college basketball, and the Premier League. If a team you own wins its championship, you get paid. That's the whole game.

🐍

One snake draft

11 rounds, 132 picks, held every July during the MLB All-Star break β€” the only week all seven sports are asleep at once.

πŸ†

Seven trophies pay

The pot splits into 7 equal shares β€” World Series, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup, Super Bowl, CFP title, March Madness, and the Premier League.

πŸ›‹οΈ

Zero maintenance

No lineups, no waivers, no Tuesday panic. Your total time cost is about 3 hours a YEAR β€” the draft plus trash talk.

🎯

Scouting included

Championship futures odds for all 647 teams are baked into the draft board β€” you don't need to follow all seven sports to draft like you do.

πŸ“…

Year-round action

There's a live championship race in every month of the league year β€” the group chat never goes dark in February.

🐐

Bawse Points

Every championship you win banks a Bawse Point in the five-year Chapter Champion race across both leagues. $300 / $200 / $100 at chapter's end.

02The seven championships

Every one of these 647 teams can be owned. Every title pays 1/7th of the pool. There's a live championship race in every month of the league year.

03Try it β€” draft room demo

You're on the clock. Build an 11-team portfolio from any leagues you want. Then simulate the rest of the room and watch the board shrink.

    05Who's favored right now

Championship futures from sportsbooks, as of the July 2026 All-Star break β€” live scouting for draft night. The full cheatsheet for every team is in the draft board.

    06The money & the calendar

Seven equal $40 shares, paid the night each champion is crowned. One manager can double- or triple-dip in a single year β€” no entry fee, the pot has it covered.

Season pot $280 β€” funded from the league pot built up over past seasons. No entry fees.
    Each championship pays $40
All five chapter seasons already funded.

    07FAQ

Do I have to know anything about soccer / college hoops / hockey?

No β€” that's half the fun. The odds cheatsheet tells you who's good, and by February you'll be inexplicably screaming at Premier League matches you had no stake in last year.

What happens to the teams nobody drafts?

Nothing β€” they simply sit unowned. In the rare case an unowned team wins its championship (hello, March Madness), that title's share rolls over into next season's prize pool instead of paying out.

How is this less work than fantasy football?

There are no lineups, no waivers, no trades, and no scoring to check β€” after the draft there are no moves at all. Total commitment: one draft night plus however much trash talk you choose to generate.

What if my teams are all garbage by January?

Then you root for chaos, talk your trash, and circle next July. Rosters lock at the draft β€” no rescue trades β€” so a doomed portfolio is simply content for the group chat.

Is this replacing our fantasy football league?

No β€” it runs beside it. Bawse League (our 12-manager NFL redraft on Sleeper) is still the main event every fall; the Champions League keeps the group competing the other eight months. Both count toward the five-year Chapter Champion title.

Where did this format come from?

A league on r/FFCommish that's run it happily for 2+ years, plus another group that copied it and reported back a year later still loving it. We adapted their rules for 10 managers.
